Thank you for the laugh. I at first also was dumbstruck until I thought of the developer “Les Wining”

Oops, about to get incensed and remembered the date. BUT, seeing some plans for our beloved area, sounded plausible. Yikes.

The hospital site is huge, apartments is something we need desperately. Could also share it for something else. Something affordable for low income people. Marquette is getting to expensive. What happened to our nice little community. Go to the big cities and build. Fight for our little town!

OMG. I nearly died. All morning I wondered what the hell was going on. I further discussed the arrival with another reader. He thought the same thing. Then the light came on. This is something I looked forward to every year when you did Word On The Street. An aha moment.

Thank you. Best laugh of the day.

What about a showroom for concerts at the Casino? We really need that!

Instead of traveling all the way to the Island Resort to enjoy concerts.

Worsttownsusa was certainly not complimentary towards us. Unless I want to dress like a lumberjack our the quintessential outdoors woman, I can't buy clothing in this town. There are very few places to shop for clothes, thus, we must order through Amazon. This means our money leaves the area. also, I'm hoping very little is done to Mqt. Mountain. If we can expect "minimal damage" to our mountain, then there will probably be lots of damage to the mountain. But, then again, Marquette needs the money. So. . . . "Lower income people" like their own bathrooms and every apartment unit should have one. So, build fewer apartments, make them a little larger and put in a bathroom in every unit.

As for the new gated community: this will be for out of towners who only come here for summer or a weekend or two in winter. However, they will have to pay taxes just like the rest of us and that will be greatly appreciated. But where would their tax money go: city or township?
